James Horne's serials are much more fun to watch when you are drunk, especially THE SPIDER RETURNS. There is also Columbia's "Terrible Three" from 1946, CHICK CARTER DETECTIVE, HOP HARRIGAN, and SON OF THE GUARDSMAN.
